I ran into an interesting analysis attempting to measure social enterprise (SE) sector in Europe in this post by KPMG. Some great infographics and interesting approach to measuring the size of the SE sector through number of SE networks - organisations that bring together groups of social entrepreneurs and develop activities with the objective of creating ties between them, in order to foster peer support.
It looks like Europe is ahead of the world if you look at the number of SE networks.
Speaking of which, The Hub Amsterdam announced that they are moving to a bigger building in Westerpark from November, which will no doubt mean the next chapter of their growth. It’s exciting because many of the Hub members are social entrepreneurs. If you are in Amsterdam and keen to meet new exciting start ups and SE’s, check out The Hub’s events.
I will close with a link to the trailer of a French-English documentary by Stephanie Failloux and Nicolas Jouvin called ‘Social Business: A New Path for Capitalism?’. This documentary will screen in film festivals this year world wide. You can contact Stephanie on Linkedin if you’d like to screen her film.
